This land and buildings housed the first African American post-sixth grade education in Campbell County, with Rev. Thomas W. Tweedy serving as the first schoolmaster. The curriculum focused on trades and domestic home care, providing practical skills for men and women. This institution had a profound impact on the community and is a testament to the power of education to effect positive change.
We are raising funds, securing volunteers and renovating the buildings.
We will provide a variety of community service projects and programming.
