Mary Frances Tweedy Cundiff was born on November 10, 1931, to Elizabeth Calloway Tweedy and William Tweedy in Gladys, Virginia. She graduated from Campbell County Training School in 1950, she found employment in Norfolk, Virginia, returned home, and married Mr. James Cundiff, of Evington, Virginia. They became the parents of James Jr. and Dennis.
Mrs. Cundiff retired from the Archer Creek Foundry Plant in Lynchburg, VA, after twenty years of employment and was a Board Member of the Central Virginia Sickle Cell Association's Lynchburg Chapter. Mary enjoyed cooking, quilting, designing dresses, and hat making.
As a member of Grace Baptist Church and an associate member of the Mt. Evergreen Baptist Church, she enjoyed "teaching, expounding on the Word of God and spreading the good news!"
THELMA WHEELER
JULY 3, 1933 - MARCH 28, 2022
Thelma began writing her life’s story on July 3, 1933. Thelma dedicated 35 years to educating young children in Campbell County. Her scrapbook of students was her prized possession, and former students would often approach her and ask if she remembered them, to which she always replied with a warm "yes." Thelma's faith in God and creative spirit brought joy to all those around her, and her legacy will live on through the lives she touched.
