Our vision is to renovate the four buildings on the site to serve as a cultural, educational and historical facility. Our plans include a museum to display artifacts and antiquities, space for educational lectures, programs and workshops as well as a large group assembly area for plays, concerts, reunions, banquets and other activities of public interest.
We are continuing the philosophical legacy of Booker T. Washington and Julius Rosenwald, which was simply to foster a more educated citizenry. Our fund-raising and renovation efforts are patterned on the basic strategy utilized by Mr. Rosenwald, which was to encourage community organizations and individuals to donate funds and volunteer their services. Moore Architecture serves as our renovation consultant.
