Our History

 We are an all volunteer committee dedicated to raising the funds to renovate this historical school for public usage.Shown here are the members of our original steering committee. Many other volunteers throughout Campbell County and the surrounding areas provide volunteer services, supplies and funding.

Our History

 This land and its buildings housed the first post sixth grade education for African Americans in Campbell County. Pictured is Rev. Thomas W. Tweedy, the first school master or principal. The curriculum focused on trades for men and domestic home care for women.

 Our mission is to provide a center for cultural activities and workshops and showcase  artifacts of historical signifance. Rehabilitation is currently being done on an office and the auditorium.
